Behind the Brownies

Sometimes, it doesn’t hurt to be a people pleaser, if it means creating an awesomely delicious dessert that is not only good for you, but good for people with a variety of dietary restrictions.

As someone who grew up with a sweet tooth struggling with her weight, I know what your taste buds want.  As a personal trainer educated in nutrition, I know what your body needs.

I wasn’t satisfied with the “healthy” options that are out there.  Many are made of unhealthy ingredients but are packaged in portion-controlled sizes. Most are full or preservatives, and ingredients you can’t pronounce.  Some gluten-free and vegan products give the image of health, but have sugar as the first ingredient on the label!  Despite the fact that I’ve been enjoying healthy home-made desserts for years, there’s nothing out in the world that I felt good about putting in my body.  I’m someone who loves rich tasting desserts, but not things that are overly sugary tasting.  Despite the fact that I didn’t want to be eating too much sugar for my health, I also prefer a dark chocolate flavor to sugary desserts.

I knew that if I couldn’t find a ready-to-go dessert at a coffee shop or grocery store that met my standards, that other people must be having the same problem, and I was eager to create an amazing product that would help everyone to enjoy dessert without the guilt!

My journey into the world of desserts has begun with Shockingly Healthy Brownies. My hope is for these brownies to bring people together through enjoying top-notch homemade desserts.  I wanted to make something everyone could eat, so I created a product that is not only helpful if you’re managing your weight, seeking to make healthy choices, but it is also gluten-free and vegan.
